Low activity on Transport Expertise
Posted on December 2, 2008 by Matthieu Desiderio
I would like to publish a short note to let every reader know about the reasons of such a low activity on Transport Expertise in the last 4 weeks.
First of all, the newsletter could not be sent because of technical reasons that affect both the WordPress system used to run the website and Yahoo! servers that host it. I am in the process to get it fixed and I really hope publication can resume soon.
This does not however justify why there have not been any articles published in these last weeks… So here is the truth: Transport Expertise is becoming a Non-Profit Organization (called “Association” under the French regulation: Loi 1901). The main goal of this newly formed Association will be to promote North American and French/European best practices in the transportation/infrastructures sectors. We definitely look forward to your participation to help developing our activities.
We have been preparing this in the last couple weeks, and it takes (a lot of) time to deal with all administrative procedures and paperworks. We expect the Association to be created by the end of December, and resume full activity by January 2009. We will then send further information about who are the people part of the board of directors, and how to subscribe and participate to the Association’s activities.
I would like to personnally thank all Transport Expertise website’s visitors for their continued interest and hope to be able to meet some of you to discuss the project in the future months.
Please note that I will be attending the 89th Annual Transport Research Board Meeting held January 11-15, 2009 in Washington, DC. Do not hesitate to contact me to schedule a meeting if you would be interested in discussing these issues.
