In brief: DHL North America: UPS was definitely interested!

We finally know, after a couple weeks/months, what was going on with DHL North America’s operation!
UPS Inc. announced on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 that it will provide air transportation in North America for DHL Express, subsidiary of Deutsche Post. This radical change is part of DHL costs cutting policy since a couple months.The final contract might be signed by the end of the year: UPS Inc., #1 for hire carrier in the United States, expects to generate up to $1 billion annual revenues with this deal that will last 10 years.
More precise about this deal can be found in the two stories linked in the References below. This announcement is probably the end of all the questions that have been raised since the end of January, when the press speculated that FedEx was interested by DHL’s US activities…
