In brief: Waterways under the spotlights

The Transport and Logistics International Week (Semaine Internationale du Transport et de la Logistique, SITL) celebrates its 25th aniversary next month in Paris. The conference and expo will be held from March 11 to 14, in Paris Nord Villepinte, Hall 5.
VNF: inland waterways solutions and advantages
During this international event, Voies Navigables de France (VNF), the French waterways authority, with its counterparts and partners from Belgium: the “Office de promotion des voies navigables” (OPVN) and Promotie Binnenvaart Vlaanderen (PBV), will present the advantages of waterways transportation.
Voies navigables de France is expected to give a presentation of all different inland waterways transportation solutions and their economical advantages.
Voies navigables de France will answer questions from professionnals about the different topics discussed in a conference, that will be held on Wednesday, March 12 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm:
“Transport fluvial, quels défis pour 2012 ?”
(Waterways transport, what challenges for 2012?)
The conference will also discuss the main issues of the Seine-Nord Europe canal, emphasizing on intermodality and land development.
