2007: good year for Norbert Dentressangle

Norbert Dentressangle (ND), French road carrier and logistics company announced yesterday (January 30, 2008) a turnover up 12.2% to €1.8 billion. The road transport activity accounted for €1.12 billion (+12%) and logistics for €675 million (+12.6%) of the turnover. ND expects its EBITDA to be up 4.3% from 2006.

Christian Salvesen part of Norbert Dentressangle: toward new activities

October 2, 2007, Norbert Dentressangle launched a friendly takeover bid on British carrier Christian Salvesen. The operation has been finalized before the end of the year, and the new group Norbert Dentressangle – Christian Salvesen will probably reach the top 10 European transport and logistics companies, either topping the 9th or 10th position depending on Gefco and Dascher turnovers.

ND will become a real leader of the road transport and logistics market in Europe, with 8,000 trucks and 4 million square meters of warehouses. Turnover is also expected to grow up to €3 billion for the fiscal year 2008, including Christian Salvesen activity for a whole year; 2007 share of Christian Salvesen being already €48 million from December 14, 2007.

Whole group activity will be balanced between transport (57%) and logistics (43%). Because of Christian Salvesen integration, international share is also expected to increase: it will account for 50% of the total turnover in 2007 against 20% for ND alone.

Also Christian Salvesen integration will allow ND to diversify in flat pallet transport with Darfeuille France, and also have refrigerated transport activities in Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
