In brief: Alstom trains go full speed!

In my previous article (In brief: Alstom will be allowed to bid on Montreal Metro invitation to tender), I discussed Alstom issue with Montreal transit authority but that was not the only Alstom (great) news this week.
The French manufacturer just closed a contract for 25 AGV train sets (conceived to top 350 kph commercial speed), its new high-speed rail train that will replace actual TGVs, with NTV, a new Italian passenger rail operator. The contract also includes an option for 10 more train sets and is worth at least €700 million.
This contract is another great opportunity for Alstom that also sold its TGV in Morocco and which is supposed to close its $1.5 billion contract in Argentina on Jan. 16, 2008, for the high-speed rail link between Buenos Aires and Cordoba, in a consortium named Veloxia with Argentineans and Spanish firms…
